    2010 World Cup Stadium Security Changes - The security at World Cup stadiums in Cape Town and Durban changes and had took over responsibility by the police personnel after a pay dispute escalated between stewards and a security contractor.

    The FIFA 2010 World Cup organizers said they called in the police after some stadium staff members left their posts because of a pay dispute with the contractor, Stallion Security Consortium.

    Jones said the striking security staff members left peacefully. About 1,500 trainees from the national police were called in to cover for a shortage of manpower at the stadium’s entrances, he said.
